Ten months after issuing their latest album Mañana, Mellow Mood release their new single Mountains & Waters. It’s a rock-solid roots tune written in collaboration with the Peruvian-German reggae band Memoria and produced by Paolo Baldini DubFiles.
The song calls on the world to consider the negative effects of our approach towards climate change. More specifically, it is a warning against the lip-service-paying, green-washing propaganda carried out by the same capitalist forces who worsen climate change and endanger our planet in the first place.
The track brings together two sets of brothers in one big combination. The twin led Italian powerhouse Mellow Mood are joined by the siblings from Germany’s fast rising reggae act, Memoria.
Mountains & Waters will be officially presented live on July 8th at Sunrise Reggae Und Ska Festival in Burtenbach (DE). The single, released under the La Tempesta Dub, is now available on digital platforms.
La Tempesta Dub
La Tempesta Dub is the offbeat offshoot of the famous independent Italian label La Tempesta. The label’s artistic direction comes from Paolo Baldini DubFiles and Mellow Mood (both have released their music via this imprint since 2015). La Tempesta Dub celebrated its birth with a traveling mini-festival that brought the label’s artists and notable guests from Europe and Jamaica to key Italian cities. Over the years, the label has released and distributed a carefully curated catalogue of albums and singles from artists such as Forelock, Dan I and Imperial Sound Army, as well as, of course, Mellow Mood and Paolo Baldini DubFiles.
